Backstory: the W8s are made up of some "experienced" women who are ageing well, like a good wine; plus a load of energetic youngsters who do all the running. Every week, we get very excited if someone turns up with a new item of kit. We love to dress up in our cone costumes and have been known to win a quiz.

Top Goalscorer: we all love to score goals, but our favourite one was Heidi's short corner.
Team Tradition: Speckled Hen milkshakes and / or drinking out of flasks.

The W8s is a development team - we are a mixture of 'experienced' players and youngsters. If your daughter is about to turn 13 and would like to play adult hockey, please see this page to find out how it works. When she's ready, she can join the 8s and we'll give her a gentle introduction to adult hockey until she's able to progress up the club. We also have a number of mother-daughter combos in the team, which is a great way to spend a bit more weekend time with your teenager, so if you play (or would like to start playing) then please come along to training too. Everyone is welcome.
