job description

Employment Terms and Conditions – contact Becky Turner

Do you have an employment law background or do you work for a law firm that could develop terms and conditions for our paid roles? Or do you have experience in HR and or excellent administration skills and could you coordinate the issue of terms and conditions and ensure the employment checks are complete?

Initially there will be an intensive period of time where we set up and agree contracts. Having completed this part of the project, it will be busy at the start of the season and then be an administration role ensuring that all legal paperwork is complete.

Insurance Coordinator – contact Becky Turner/Nick Hall

We are looking for someone who has a knowledge of insurance and in particular in sports clubs. This role is to ensure that we are covered by insurance in all areas. As a tenant of Oaklands we need to work with them to ensure that as a club we are not double insured or have gaps in our insurance. You would also be responsible for coordinating any insurance claims.

Policies and Governance Lead – contact Becky Turner

We have started to populate our new website with policies and procedures. We need to ensure that we have appropriate policies and governance to manage our club, to ensure they are regularly reviewed and updated according to legislation or England Hockey changes. The Policies and Governance Lead will need to work closely with the Communications Manager to ensure that new policies and updates are communicated appropriately.

This is a standalone role where someone can work in their own time. There is a need to focus initially on ensuring we have the right policies in place and that they are well publicised.

Club Mark Coordinator – contact Becky Turner

England Hockey Club Mark is designed to set a minimum operating standard for clubs to achieve and ensure that the appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures are in place. It is a tool for clubs to assure themselves that they have the basics in place.

Club Mark is a portal for us to show a true reflection of our club, the system also allows us to use it as a document storage system.

Having completed the process we are able to use the Club Mark logo on our website and display our accreditation certificate.

We want to ensure that we have attained the Club Mark accreditation by the beginning of next season. In this role you will gain a good understanding of how the club operates and will require you to work with key members of the Board including the Director of Hockey, Director of Youth and CEO to coordinate activities and ensure compliance.

Ideally, having achieved compliance the Club Mark Coordinator will monitor and ensure continued compliance.

Kitchen Licence – contact Becky Turner

As we operate a kitchen within the Oaklands building we are required to obtain a kitchen licence. We are seeking someone that has experience in catering, ideally in a kitchen with a licence and is willing to work with Oaklands catering to introduce new processes for our club kitchen. Ideally, you will be prepared to train our current staff on the processes and conduct regular checks.

This is a one off project to set up the systems and ideally to support the club on an adhoc/governance basis going forward.

Please contact the CEO Becky Turner or the relevant person if you're interested in volunteering.
