3. Youth section: coaches & team managers

Coaches

As our youth numbers continue to grow, we are on the lookout for people who might be interested in coaching our junior players. There is a great atmosphere within our youth coaching team and many of our current coaches began coaching when their children joined the club. However, you don't need to have a child currently at the club; maybe you have previous playing or coaching experience and would like to share this with our youth players. There is also the opportunity to progress through the coaching levels. The club recognises the importance of volunteers and assists and supports any volunteer looking to get involved in coaching.

Team Managers

We are hoping that there are some keen, enthusiastic volunteers out there who would like to help the youth lead coaches in the role of Team Manager - no hockey knowledge required! A Team Manager assists with admin work for match days for a specific youth age group and frees up time for the coaches to concentrate on their coaching. This role involves communicating match day details to parents for a specific age group and helping to inform parents of any training session updates. Perhaps you have a child in a certain age group and are able to help out or perhaps you have a small amount of time each week that you are able to dedicate to this role?

Please get in touch with the Director of Youth if you are interested in becoming a youth supporting coach or a youth Team Manager, or would like any further information on these roles. We cannot run our youth section without these volunteers and would be very grateful for any time you might be able to spare.
