A beautiful day with a tangerine sun shining down. The girls won their first three group matches easily and had to play a strong Cambridge City side to decide who was going to top the group. Our girls scored three goals in 5 minutes and played their best hockey this year. Cambridge scored twice but time was up and our girls topped the group. In the semi-finals they played Bury St Edmunds (the battle of the oranges) and beat them 1-0 in a tight and physical match. In the finals we ran into our old friends Hertford, who have a very strong side. In a high quality match Hertford were the stronger team, beat us 3-0 and are off to the national finals.
An incredible end to a great season for the girls who have made huge progress this year and who played with great intensity and will to win. Huge congratulations to Isla, Jess, Eloise, Anna, Ami, Martha, Lily, Eliza, Caitlin and Lola!
