The Masters teams knew they had something to aspire to, after reaching both the O35 and O45 finals last season.

The O35 (OLD BIRDS!) started their season v Barnes. Previous experience of this team meant we knew it would be a tough encounter. This proved to be the case as the game finished 1-1. The team progressed to round 2 after winning 2-1 on penalties. UK Armed Forces were the next challenge and the team gelled well to produce a better performance to win 3-0.

The best team performance came against Wapping in Round 3. We had a delayed trip due to Storm Clara but some beautiful hockey ended with a 7-1 win. Into the last 16, and our opposition was BromBeck. With many of their team still playing National League, we knew this was going to be a hard game. BromBeck deservedly took the lead but St Albans fought back to take the game into penalties. Unfortunately, they were better than us and our cup run finished there.
