4s v Welwyn 1s

Unfortunately, we were soon down to a bare 11 players with an injury to Molly within the first 10 minutes. Welwyn 1s were 3rd in the league last year, so what was going to be a tough fixture, got even tougher. The match was very even at the start, but then Welwyn got the upper hand in the first half with an excellent solo effort and a short corner strike from their very skilful and tricky centre forward.
We started strongly in the second half, starting to put passes together and asking questions of the Welwyn defence. We soon pulled one back with a very well taken goal from Heidi. We continued to be camped in their half for a further spell, putting chances together, hitting the post and winning numerous short corners. It was during this pressure that they got their 3rd with a very quick counter attack. We can take many positives from the game, as at 2-1 we were very close to getting a well deserved point.
