It seemed like the middle of the night when the alarms went off for our early start this week! In bitter conditions, we were soon camped in the Letchworth half, with early chances being created. We now seem to have shored up the defence, but Letchworth did have a breakaway chance, from which Birthday Girl Evie made an incredible reaction save to put the shot onto the crossbar, scare over! The pitch was a bit slow and we seemed to slow the pace of the game after the bright start and we lost our tempo. In at half time 0-0. A pep talk from Andre woke us up and we began to boss the game with faster passing and when Nikki scored after 41 minutes it seemed to settle us. How it wasn't more I don't know, there seemed to be a forcefield in front of the Letchworth goalmouth and it was repelled time and time again. Still 1-0 and then the Letchworth goalkeeper decided to save everything thrown at her. Patience. On 57 minutes we were rewarded with a second this time from Team Captain Gemma and it sealed the match. A great team effort in difficult conditions. Great team teas Letchworth.
