She joined St Albans Hockey Club in the early 1990’s and quickly became a hugely popular figure at the club. Her infectious personality and brilliant sense of humour, as well as her leadership qualities and desire to win, resulted in her winning the respect of everyone at the Club.

She took on the role of coordinating the Women’s Masters section of the club in 1996, and under her guidance and leadership, the teams have flourished, resulting in a first national success in 2003. She has organised all three age groups since their inception. Each age group has appeared in the National Cup and Plate Finals.

She has dedicated over 8 years to serving as both a selector and manager in the Women’s East Area Masters Hockey. Her extensive experience has been instrumental in developing talent and contributing to the overall success of Masters teams within the region.

As well as her passion and commitment to club and regional hockey, England Hockey were fortunate that she took on the team manager’s role for the Masters Women’s O55’s team in the 2021/22 season.
She has been responsible for coordinating the selection of the WO55’s teams for 4 Home Nation competitions, 2 World Cups and 2 European Championships. Drawing together selectors and coaches, arranging International Trips to tournaments in South Africa, Valencia and New Zealand, and communicating with all concerned.
The overriding factor in the success of club, regional and international hockey, has been the huge sense of fun and enjoyment Benny has instilled. The camaraderie that has developed since she became involved, is second to none.
