The match started at a fast pace and both teams were pushing for an early goal.
After retaking the ball in the middle of the field Hertford went fast and immediately our defenders where left to themselves, and with a couple of one two’s Hertford slotted the ball home from close range. Unphazed, captain Taza collects the ball and gets the team refocused and ready to go again.
And after many close chances, Harry gets the ball on the P-spot and sweeps the ball home. The game was tied and both teams were becoming aggressive, with the umpires having words with both teams. But it wasn’t long before St Albans scored their second, a great ball in from Tommy, and a deflection from Ronan gave Daniel the ball at the back post to finish it off.
Into the second half, and Hertford where trying desperately for a second goal, but we kept up the pressure before Harry collected the ball again and finished with sharp accuracy into the bottom corner. The game went on with chances appearing at both ends but Hertford were starting to weaken in defence and many of our players pushed forward to finish the game off, but many great saves from the Hertford goalie denied a fourth and the match ended 3-1 to St Albans, a great result against a tough opposition.
