Welcome to the club - Tariq Marcano

St Albans Hockey Club is delighted to welcome Tariq Marcano as our latest Club Development Member, funded through the Corporate Partners scheme. Tariq is a current member of the Trinidad and Tobago men’s hockey team and the visit sees him reunited with international team mate Dillet Gilkes (SAHC Club Head Coach) and return to the UK (in 2015/16 he played in the EH Premiership Division for Canterbury HC). Tariq played for Trinidad and Tobago Under 18s (from 2007) and Under 21s (from 2012) and made his senior international debut at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. He is due to play in the World League Round 2 from March 25 2017. He is also an experienced coach, having coached the ladies 1st XI at Malvern Sports Club in Trinidad and coached at St Lawrence School Canterbury in England. Tariq will come to St Albans Hockey Club as a player and coach for 8 weeks. Tariq will: (1) train and play with the men’s 1st team (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays); (2) join the junior coaching team (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sunday mornings); and (3) help at club coaching (Wednesdays).
